Take the stage in Guangzhou
A 5 day, 4 night band learning journey to Guangzhou and Foshan. Students rehearse and play with musicians in China, perform in a joint concert, and discover the culture and technology of Southern China together as an ensemble.

Music at the heart of the trip
Three of the five days are built around making music: two band exchanges and a full joint concert.

Two band exchanges
Students meet and make music with band musicians in Guangzhou. They rehearse, listen, share ideas and learn how another band works.
Thu 26 Nov
Cantonese Opera Art Museum
A visit to a museum dedicated to Cantonese opera, one of the great performing arts of Southern China, to see how music, costume and storytelling come together.

Five days at a glance

Arrive in Guangzhou
Fly from Singapore to Guangzhou. Explore the historic Yongqing Fang quarter and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, then check in to our hotel in Foshan.
- 27 NovFridayBand exchange
Band exchange and robotics visit
Morning band exchange in Guangzhou. In the afternoon, a robotics company visit with a hands on activity.
- 28 NovSaturdayConcert day
Joint concert performance
A full day for the performance, from soundcheck to concert.
- 29 NovSundayBand exchange
Second band exchange and Nanfeng Kiln
Another band exchange in Guangzhou, then a cultural tour of the centuries old Nanfeng Kiln with a lion head craft activity.

Home to Singapore
Check out and fly back to Singapore.
