2026 Semester 2 registrations are now open!
bas foundation
Built for absolute beginners picking up a wind band instrument for the first time, this programme takes you from your very first note to a solo recital performance. No prior experience needed. Over 20 sessions, you'll learn tone production, reading music, and playing technique guided by experienced BAS instructors.
Learning happens in a group, and that's the point. Playing alongside others trains your ear to tune and blend, builds a sense of timing you can't get practising alone, and keeps you accountable week to week. You'll pick up faster watching peers, and the shared progress makes the hard early weeks a lot easier to push through.
The programme closes with a solo recital, where each student performs a prepared piece in front of an audience. It's a real milestone, proof of how far you've come and a foundation to build on if you choose to continue.
